We’re back!

with one comment

We’ve been busy… There have been distractions… Stuff has been going on… the economy’s not great… We saw some sun for the first time in years… Time has flown… There are so many valid reasons. All we can say is a very big sorry that we’ve been quiet; we will try to do better in the future.

So having broken the silence – it is great to be back. Last time we met we agreed to do a Twestival – and we did (raising over £6,000 in the process). But in doing that we lost momentum and things around us changed. A couple of weeks ago some of us met up again – it was great to see some new people, and to catch up with old friends. As a result, we’re back on the Devon Social Media Café ball.

For those who haven’t been before; Devon Social Media Café provides local people who use social media with an opportunity to meet the faces behind the avatars. Our events are informal, friendly and sociable – we source the space, and you can make the most of it. When some of us met a couple of weeks ago discussions ranged across Glastonbury, gardening, food, blogs, exercise (or lack thereof), twitter, photography, #21 days, gin, corsets and even an odd bit of business – and those were just the bits that I heard.

Where is this heading? To Stanley Casino!

Thanks to the hospitality of @TraceyHanwell and @StanleyCasino you are very warmly invited to come and join us for the next Devon Social Media Café on Wednesday 28th July from 7 at Stanley Casino ( – there will be a bar available and we anticipate plenty of lively conversation and laughter (as well as all sorts of shared social media experience/expertise).

So that we have an idea who is coming, please book a ticket (it will only cost you a couple of minutes and no cash) by visiting
