First Devon Social Media Cafe launches next week

Business users of social networking sites get together in Plymouth next week for the inaugural meeting of the Devon Social Media Cafe.

The new discussion group will allow businesses and organisations to recognise the value of social media and to explore new and better ways of using it.

The event will be held on Tuesday 15 September at Bar HaHa, Plymouth, from 6.30pm onwards. Spaces are still available and there is no charge but anyone wanting to attend is asked to reserve a place online at: or telephone 01822 600100.

The organisation has been set up by public relations consultants PR Dogs Limited after they were asked to advise a number of business groups on the best ways to use social media.
Director John Taynton said: “We have been surprised at how much interest there is among businesses and organisations. Social media is a very valuable part of the marketing mix but people are unsure how to make the best use of it.

“Devon Social Media Cafe will allow companies to exchange ideas and formulate best practice. I do hope businesses and other organisations will find it useful.

“There is a very good sister organisation in Cornwall and their representatives will be at the meeting to give us their experiences as well. Like the Cornwall event, we will rotate venues around the county each month.”
